Successful change through people

Who we are

At new habits, we are a values driven training, coaching, development and consultancy team. We work in partnership with individuals, teams and organisations; across all sectors, and at all levels. Our purpose is to support the fulfilment of organisational and personal goals. We do this by helping people to explore their potential, recognise their choices, identify strategies for change, and realise their aspirations.

Our services include a broad range of public workshops, in-house training, customised programmes, one-to-one coaching, consultancy and ongoing support.

Whatever the approach, our values drive the way we work with our clients, and indeed each other:

  • Respect and trust
  • Integrity and confidentiality
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Sensitivity and care
  • Fun and enjoyment
  • Positivity and optimism

We actively support the third sector.

Paul GirlingPaul Girling, MD

I started new habits seven years ago and I’ve loved every minute of it. I’ve worked with a broad range of people and organisations, as a coach, consultant, project manager and trainer. I’m an NLP practitioner, accredited coach with a post graduate certificate (Distinction) in executive and business coaching, trained by Roger Steare to deliver 'ethicability' and an MBTI practitioner.

I’m the author of the project game, 'Family Life', published by Gower. We have also published our ‘positivity’ game – ‘How do you see this?’ My commitment to my professional development includes membership of the Association for Project Management (APM), the Association for Coaching and the Association for NLP.

I’m a regular presenter to professional bodies and on Sheffield Enterprise Agency’s ‘BIG’ Programme.

Kevin DollingKevin Dolling, Senior Consultant

I joined new habits in 2010 as senior consultant, and consider myself very fortunate to be working with such a talented team who share the same values as me.

Before joining new habits I worked for one of the world’s largest financial institutions for many years in a variety of management roles. Regardless of where I work my passion remains the same - helping others to develop both personally and professionally. I love to learn, and am constantly looking for opportunities to expand my skills and knowledge.

I have a broad HR background and have done pretty much every role there is to do in a learning environment. I am an NLP Practitioner and executive coach. My accreditations include MBTI, TMS, Types of Work profile and Team Management profile . I have also been trained by Roger Steare to deliver 'ethicability'.  I have an MBA and am a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and the Association of Coaching.

Jan LivesleyJan Livesley, Associate

I joined new habits as an Associate in 2007. I have 18 years Learning & Development experience both in the UK and globally, leading HSBC’s L&D department for three years in India and Malaysia.

My strengths lie in Selection & Recruitment; Performance Management, Coaching & Mentoring, Project Management and Management Competencies. I am an NLP practitioner and qualified teacher (QTS).

I believe training should provide practical approaches that can be readily applied in both work and personal life and always aim to deliver this.

My interests include travelling, reading, walking and socialising with friends.

Joanna ReynoldsJoanna Reynolds, Marketing and Consultant

I joined new habits in 2010 as head of Marketing and Trainer. Having attended the training courses whilst contract working for the third sector, I firmly believe new habits training and coaching will enhance any organisation. I am absolutely thrilled to be working for such an excellent, forward thinking company, who have a great attitude to life and business.

My background has predominately been in marketing and business development for high achieving, global businesses within the retail environment. I have a Bsc (hons) in Management Science, qualified teacher to life long learning sector (PTLLES), trained by Roger Steare to deliver 'ethicability' and author of 'NLP to improve consultation skills' published by Royal College of General Practitioners.  I am an NLP advocate and member of the Association for Coaching.

I have also presented at annual conferences for professional bodies.  Joining new habits is a fantastic chance for me to work with a great service, great people and great value set.
